This dual-purpose Higher Certificate in Accounting introduces fundamental accounting and business management concepts, including business literacy, payroll, and SARS returns. It’s also a pathway to degree studies in accounting or related fields, making it ideal for those interested in finance careers. After completion, you’ll possess entry level working knowledge of accounting, management accounting, Payroll and SARS returns, business management and financial literacy. This qualification is ideally suited to prepare you for roles such as Junior Accountant, Payroll Officer, Accounts Administrator, or Bookkeeper.

Admission requirements
- NSC (National Senior Certificate) (Gr 12) or equivalent with admission to Higher Certificate studies.
- A person aged 23 or older with work experience in this field of study may also qualify for admission.

Delivery method
This qualification will be taught through online classes twice a week, and face-to-face classes on one Saturday a month at the closest campus. Significant material and support are available on the learning management system (MyNGI) where the recordings of classes will also be made available
